Enjoyed a solo experience, which would have also been great with others, making a bamboo lantern. The staff was very friendly and spoke English. I wanted an experience that would give me time to decompress and have solo time before a work obligation started. This was perfect!!!

I cannot rave about this experience highly enough! We arrived early and were warmly welcomed by Loi, and the room was already prepared. He gave us an insight to the background of the Bamboo industry and history. We started our class and had so much fun. Very happy with a handmade souvenir. After, we were given an understanding of the Space Beppu "heart". A safe space for people to come. Read, chat, create, share a cuppa or a beer. It was quite beautiful. We were shown through the artist showrooms with an insight to their creations too. What we thought was going to be an hour visit, turned easily into 2 and leaving with several original pieces. The artist I purchased from even came to hand deliver! A perfect memory of my trip to Japan X
